Raphael Centre Commemorate World Aids Day

Soweto Connection's partner organisation the Raphael Centre in Grahamstown (South Africa) held their World Aids Day Commemoration on Friday the 27th of November. About 400 people attended the ceremony which took place at the Cathedral of St Michael and St George. The theme was "Universal Access to Treatment and Support" and there were presentations by several speakers. At the end, balloons were released to symbolise those who have died.

Putting up the large Aids ribbon in the cathedral was a gargantuan task and took three days and used up all the patience of several stalwart volunteers! The Cathedral has agreed to keep it hanging for a month.
