Power of Women and Children launch New Website
The Power of Women and Children (PWC), one of Soweto Connection's partner groups in South Africa, has just launched its new website.
PWC is committed to building long-term community benefits for women and children in South Africa. With over 7 years experience in humanitarian efforts, their vision is to bring relief to the families where it is needed most.
They run skills development programs such as computer literacy, sewing, dairy and farming, arts and crafts, baking and catering. These programs allow their trainees to be employed by companies or to create their own jobs as part of PWC's empowerment programs. PWC also runs a comprehensive home based care program for peoples infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. This program is done through door-to-door efforts that include counseling, feeding, clothing, cleaning, bathing and washing provided to the patients and their families by a team of trained caregivers.
In 2008 Soweto Connection helped PWC to build a new daycare centre in Tshepisong. The centre is now complete, and is a fantastic facility for the community and especially the children who use it.
