Flagday a Success Despite the Bad Weather

Thanks to everyone who supported the Soweto Connection flagday on Tuesday 8th September in Limerick, especially those who collected on the streets.

The weather was terrible and the crowd was small, but the day still brought in almost €1,200. This is a great start to the Shout Out for Sean appeal.

While it was hard going in the rain, the money raised will secure the future of Khayelitsha children, and get them off to a good start. As a side note, Sean and some Soweto Connection volunteers met the South African soccer team (Bafana Bafana) before their match, and the picture is now on the South African Football Association website, here http://www.safa.net/index.php?page=bafanawishirishmanluck.

Thanks again!
