Irishman Sean McGowan achieves his life dream

Irishman Sean McGowan has just completed his life's ambition to row single-handedly across the Atlantic Ocean. He is still getting donations in support of his incredible feat, and hopes to raise enough money to help Soweto Connection build a brand new Nutrition and Education Centre in the township of Khayelitsha outside Cape Town.

Schoolchildren sent their support to Sean

Schools all over the country recorded songs, shouts, riddles and messages of encouragement to Sean. Sean really appreciated hearing these as he rowed the ocean, and they gave him the encouragement he needed when times were hard.

The kids in Khayelitsha township outside Cape Town also recorded a song they'd written especially for Sean, and sent a video of themselves dancing and singing for him. You can see it on the website here
